A Captello alternative for exhibitors
Captello is an event-to-revenue platform for larger event programmes: one scan reads badges and cards, capture works offline, and enriched leads go to your CRM with attribution reporting. Followbooth is much smaller. Its prices are public, it sends your brochure to the visitor at the stand, and it has no native CRM connectors yet (it works through an API, webhooks and Zapier).
At a glance
| Feature | Followbooth | Captello |
| Price | A plan per show or per year (see pricing) | Not published on its site; the site points to a demo request |
| Scanning cards | AI reads name, company, email and phone from the card; printed badges work too | One scan reads badges, business cards, badge QR codes and LinkedIn QR codes; the source is detected automatically |
| Voice note | Hold a button and speak; the note is transcribed and saved with the lead | Conversation summaries and suggested next steps are described; voice notes are not mentioned by name |
| Follow-up to the visitor | Brochures go out at the stand: WhatsApp first, email if the number is not on WhatsApp | AI-assisted follow-up starts when a lead is captured; WhatsApp is not mentioned |
| Brochure in the visitor's language | Files are picked by the visitor's language: Czech, English, German, Russian, Ukrainian | Not described on its site |
| Lead scoring and company info | A, B or C grade, a short company brief and an opening line for the call | Enrichment from 125+ data sources (the site says up to a 98% match rate) and scoring of buyer intent |
| CRM | CSV export. A REST API and webhooks on the paid plans, and CRM sync through Zapier (Webhooks by Zapier). No native CRM connectors yet. | Native integrations with the main CRM and marketing platforms; Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, Marketo and Eloqua are named |
| Without signal | The iPhone app, which is in testing now, reads the card on the phone and saves the lead without signal; the lead is sent when the connection returns. In the browser, reading a card needs a connection | The site says capture works fully offline and syncs when the connection returns |
| Team | The whole stand team in one list; everyone signs in with a name and a PIN | Capture, meetings and reporting share one login, with role-based dashboards for marketing, sales and leadership |
Choose Captello if
- You need enriched leads routed into your CRM in real time through a native integration.
- You want badges, cards and QR codes read by one scan, and capture that works fully offline.
- You run a larger event programme and want meetings, activations and attribution reports in one platform.
Choose Followbooth if
- You want to read the price before you talk to anyone: €149 for one show or €790 for a year, excluding VAT.
- You want your own brochure sent to the visitor at the stand, by WhatsApp or email, in their language.
- You want a spoken note, a company brief and an A, B or C grade for each lead without setting up integrations.
Where Followbooth is weaker today
No native CRM connectors yet (CSV export, an API, webhooks and Zapier instead), no badge barcode scanning, and the native apps are not in the stores yet: the iPhone app, which works without signal, is in testing, and the Android app is coming to Google Play. In the browser, reading a card needs a connection. WhatsApp messages go out from your team's own linked number; an official WhatsApp Business route is planned.
