A Cvent LeadCapture alternative for exhibitors
Cvent LeadCapture is the lead retrieval app Cvent offers exhibitors, mainly at shows organized on the Cvent platform. It scans attendee badges and business cards, and you buy a licence through the organizer. Followbooth is a tool you choose yourself. It works at any show and sends your brochure to the visitor at the stand. It does not read badge barcodes, so many teams use the two side by side.
At a glance
| Feature | Followbooth | Cvent LeadCapture |
| Price | A plan per show or per year (see pricing) | No public price list; the price is set per show and the licence is bought in the exhibitor portal. Order forms published by individual shows have listed one app licence from USD 249 |
| Scanning cards | AI reads name, company, email and phone from the card; printed badges work too | Scans attendee badges or business cards with a phone; some shows also rent out a handheld scanner |
| Voice note | Hold a button and speak; the note is transcribed and saved with the lead | Not described on its site |
| Follow-up to the visitor | Brochures go out at the stand: WhatsApp first, email if the number is not on WhatsApp | No sending to the visitor is described; leads are exported or synced to a CRM so your team can follow up |
| Brochure in the visitor's language | Files are picked by the visitor's language: Czech, English, German, Russian, Ukrainian | Not described on its site |
| Lead scoring and company info | A, B or C grade, a short company brief and an opening line for the call | Your own qualification questions, a rating and notes for each lead |
| CRM | CSV export. A REST API and webhooks on the paid plans, and CRM sync through Zapier (Webhooks by Zapier). No native CRM connectors yet. | Export on demand and integrations with CRM and marketing systems; a Salesforce case study is published |
| Without signal | The iPhone app, which is in testing now, reads the card on the phone and saves the lead without signal; the lead is sent when the connection returns. In the browser, reading a card needs a connection | Not stated on the product page; the support pages say leads must sync before the exhibitor admin can export them |
| Team | The whole stand team in one list; everyone signs in with a name and a PIN | Several booth staff can use it at once; only the exhibitor admin can export the leads |
Choose Cvent LeadCapture if
- The organizer of your show runs it on Cvent and sells LeadCapture licences in the exhibitor portal.
- You want the registration data that comes with the visitor's badge, with a rented scanner if you prefer one.
- Your leads must reach a CRM or marketing system through a native integration, not through a CSV file, the API or Zapier.
Choose Followbooth if
- Your show has no lead retrieval, or you want one price for the whole stand team instead of a licence per person.
- You want the brochure to reach the visitor at the stand, by WhatsApp or email, in their language.
- You want to speak a short note and get a company brief and an A, B or C grade for each lead.
Where Followbooth is weaker today
No native CRM connectors yet (CSV export, an API, webhooks and Zapier instead), no badge barcode scanning, and the native apps are not in the stores yet: the iPhone app, which works without signal, is in testing, and the Android app is coming to Google Play. In the browser, reading a card needs a connection. WhatsApp messages go out from your team's own linked number; an official WhatsApp Business route is planned.
